Just past Westwego, Avondale is a small community on the West Bank of New Orleans. Part of Jefferson Parish, Avondale is protected by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Avondale Fire Department.
The Avondale playground is only a few blocks from 616 Pat Drive, and has play equipment, public tennis courts, baseball fields and room to picnic. Just down the road is the walking trail, located right behind the fire station.
Avondale is also home to the TPC Golf Course, the site of the annual Zurich Classic Golf Tournament each spring.
